સુરત: રાજકોટની પગભર હાઇજીન પ્રાઇવેટ લિમિટેડ સંસ્થા દ્વારા સુરતના વરાછા સ્થિત સરદાર સ્મૃતિ ભવન ખાતે મહિલાઓ માટે વિશેષ સન્માન સમારોહનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. બપોરે ત્રણ વાગ્યાથી સાંજે સાડા છ વાગ્યા સુધી ચાલેલા કાર્યક્રમમાં રાજ્યભરની એક હજારથી વધુ બહેનો ઉપસ્થિત રહી હતી.
મહિલાઓમાં સ્વચ્છતા અને આરોગ્ય અંગે જાગૃતિ ફેલાવવાના સાથે તેમને આર્થિક રીતે આત્મનિર્ભર બનાવતી આ સંસ્થા હાલમાં સમગ્ર ગુજરાતમાં આશરે દસ હજારથી વધુ બહેનો સાથે કાર્યરત છે. કાર્યક્રમ ખાસ કરીને શ્રેષ્ઠ કામગીરી કરનાર બહેનોના સન્માન માટે યોજાયો હતો.
કાર્યક્રમમાં મુખ્ય અતિથિ તરીકે ઉપસ્થિત રહેલા રાજ્યસભાના સાંસદ અને જાણીતા ઉદ્યોગપતિ ગોવિંદભાઈ ધોળકિયાએ સંસ્થાના સ્થાપક દિનેશભાઈ પંડ્યાના કાર્યને બિરદાવતાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે મહિલાઓને આત્મનિર્ભર બનાવવાનો પ્રયાસ સમાજ માટે પ્રેરણાદાયી છે.
આ પ્રસંગે સંસ્થાની ઉત્તમ કામગીરી બદલ આઠ બહેનોને સ્કૂટરની ચાવી અર્પણ કરીને સન્માનિત કરવામાં આવી હતી. સન્માન મેળવનાર બહેનોમાં વિશેષ ઉત્સાહ જોવા મળ્યો હતો અને સમગ્ર કાર્યક્રમ તાળીઓના ગડગડાટથી ગુંજી ઉઠ્યો હતો.
કાર્યક્રમનું સંચાલન જીગરભાઈ પંડ્યા અને દેવીબેન પંડ્યા દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ ઉપરાંત શ્રદ્ધાબેન પંડ્યા અને તેમની ટીમ દ્વારા આગામી ત્રણ વર્ષમાં દસ લાખ મહિલાઓને આત્મનિર્ભર બનાવવાનો સંકલ્પ વ્યક્ત કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
